Meet Dr. Don Beebe, DVM, Diplomate AVDC

In 2003, Dr. Beebe left general practice to pursue a specialty residency in Dentistry and Oral Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During his residency, he acquired expertise in a wide range of advanced dental and oral surgical techniques. He also gained proficiency in teaching students, veterinarians, technicians, and the general public about veterinary dentistry. Following completion of his residency, he sat for and successfully passed the three-day national board certification examination, earning the prestigious title of Diplomat of the American Veterinary Dental CollegeTM.

Lauren Richman, DVM, Practice Limited to Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery

A native of Denver, Dr. Richman proudly represents her roots as an alumna of the University of Denver. Her journey into veterinary medicine began at Denver’s own Harrison Memorial Animal Hospital, a non-profit dedicated to low- and fixed-income pet owners in the metro area. She earned her veterinary degree at St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine, followed by a rigorous year-long internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital.

With diverse experience spanning more than a decade, Dr. Richman honed her skills in emergency medicine and general practice. Yet, the intricate world of veterinary dentistry and oral surgery truly captivated her heart during that time. This passion led her to Apex, where she has completed a demanding three-year residency program under the guidance of the American Veterinary Dental College™. She firmly believes that the health of an animal’s mouth is integral to its overall well-being, and this conviction has been the driving force behind her dedication over the last ten years.

When the white coat comes off, Dr. Richman cherishes her moments with her family. Together with her husband and son, they revel in the companionship of their beloved dog, Fennel, and their creatively named (by the toddler) pet Axolotl, ‘Axolotl.’ A lover of nature and the great outdoors, Dr. Richman and her family frequently embark on road biking expeditions, ski escapades, and travel adventures, always eager to explore the beauty the world has to offer.

In addition to veterinary medicine, Dr. Song is a sport climber with many projects around the Front Range. He spends many of his weekends at Shelf Road and Devils Head climbing with his wife on the beautiful limestone and granite walls. Dr. Song’s wife is also a veterinarian who is a traveling relief doctor. They adore their two senior dogs, Mulan and Roxy, and their spicy kitten, Astro. Dr. Song loves dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes and particularly adores Miniature Schnauzers.

Dr. Carly Poor, Resident in Dentistry and Oral Surgery

Dr. Poor grew up in Florida where she spent her childhood exploring the Gulf and Atlantic shores of her home state. An early love of marine biology developed into an interest in veterinary medicine after a summer internship at the Florida Aquarium during her undergraduate years. Dr. Poor went on to attend the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine where she was recognized at graduation for being the student who showed exceptional sensitivity to the human-animal bond. While her interests in veterinary medicine began with whales and sharks, she soon recognized that she found great satisfaction in cultivating trusting relationships with clients through the care of their beloved pets.

After vet school, Dr. Poor was drawn to Colorado for the outdoor lifestyle and worked in small animal general practice in the Denver area for 8 years. Her professional interests include dentistry, surgery, senior pet care, and client education. She is excited to take on a new challenge, pursuing a 3 year residency in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery with Apex.
